In his keynote address on the history of Bangladesh's liberation struggle, Ambassador Humayun Kabir noted that for the first time, a sense of individual nationalism was created among the Muslims of the region through the Bengal Tenancy Act 1936. Humayun Kabir referred to the Declaration of Independence (Proclamation of Independence) issued on April 10, 1971, as the ideological basis of the state of Bangladesh and its liberation war. In his speech, he also outlined a possible vision for the next 50 years of Bangladesh, which includes a just democracy, high productivity, dynamism, and a progressive society with a sense of human dignity.
