The Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands Embassy (RNE) H.E. Mrs. Bea ten Tusscher made a courtesy visit to the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) on February 17, 2008.

She was accompanied by Ms. Saskia Bezoen-Cachia, First Secretary, Economic Affairs and Private Sector Development and Ms. Monnujan Khanam, Adviser, Economic and Commercial Affairs.

H.E. Mrs. Tusscher is the newly appointed Netherlands Ambassador to Bangladesh. Her visit to BEI was to get update about the activities, deliverables, progress and achievements of the Corporate Governance Strengthening Project (CGSP), which has been supported by the RNE.

Mr. Farooq Sobhan, President, BEI briefed her regarding different projects BEI has undertaken till now and the achievements of BEI through various advocacy, seminars and roundtable discussions. He also presented the progress, deliverables and achievements of the CGSP project.

The core group members of CGSP including Mr. Anis A. Khan, Managing Director and CEO of IDLC Finance Limited, Mr. Adeeb H. Khan, Partner of KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq, were present during the visit and the briefing session. The other members of the CGSP team includes Ms. Lopa Rahman, Project Director, Ms. Sherina Tabassum, Media and Communications Manager, Mr. Asif Ayub, Research Associate, Mr. Rashedur Rahman, Research Associate were also present. BEI has also invited Mr. Fakhrul Ferdous and Ms. Parveen Huda, Consultants to the NGO component of the CGSP to the session.
