On November 21, 2007 BEI organized a day-long workshop on Corporate Governance in Bangladesh: How to Go about Institutionally in its conference room.

Mr. Faruq Ahmad Siddiqi, Honourable Chairman, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Bangladesh inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest. Mr. Farooq Sobhan, President, BEI, chaired the inaugural session of the workshop.

Ms. Lopa Rahman, Project Director, BEI and Dr. Ananya Raihan, Executive Director, D.Net presented a short overview of the concept.

BEI hosted a high-level roundtable on Monday December 03, 2007 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka on Cross-country Experiences in Business Regulation Reform: Lessons from Two Top Reformers.

Commonwealth  Secretariat and Development Partners Establish Innovative ICT Centres for Livelihoods

BEI, in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat, Bangladesh Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) and the Digital Knowledge Foundation (DKF), inaugurated a pilot project linking information and communications technology (ICT) with micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in rural Bangladesh. This is part of the Commonwealth’s twenty million taka technical assistance that aims to enhance the competitiveness of Bangladesh’s MSME competitiveness through ICT.
