Mr. Faiz Sobhan joined BEI as Research Director on 1st January 2010. Mr. Sobhan’s prime responsibilities include managing BEI’s programme of work on foreign policy, terrorism and security-related issues.
Prior to joining BEI, Mr. Sobhan spent close to 13 years at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. His areas of work included small states, climate change and international trade issues. Mr. Sobhan has also undertaken internships at the UNICEF, UNDP and the Grameen Bank.
Mr. Sobhan has a MA degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a BA degree in International Studies from George Mason University in Virginia, USA.
