Md. Rashedur Rahman is working as a Project Director at the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and working for research, advocacy, and raising awareness on the corporate governance in Bangladesh since October 2006. He is currently coordinating a number of research initiatives including the state of corporate governance awareness and practices in Bangladesh, corporate governance practices in the Banks  and Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs) in Bangladesh, assessing the impact of BEI’s training on corporate governance, developing curriculum on corporate governance and communicating with different stakeholders with an objectives to raise awareness and facilitate in ensuring good corporate governance practices in Bangladesh. Mr. Rahman also co-authored the baseline study on corporate governance practices in Bangladesh under the Corporate Governance Strengthening Project (CGSP) at BEI. In addition, Mr. Rahman supports the team in providing administrative and logistical support for all corporate governance project activities. He is a member of the International Corporate Governance Network (“ICGN”), a global network dedicated to develop and encourage adherence to corporate governance standards and guidelines, and to promote good corporate governance worldwide. He has been awarded the Inaugural Alastair Ross Goobey Memorial Scholarship by the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) and Hermes Fund Managers on Thursday June 19, 2008 for displaying strong leadership in the field of corporate governance in emerging market environment. Prior to joining BEI, Mr. Rahman completed his MBA and BBA from the Department of Management Studies, University of Dhaka. In addition, Mr. Rahman has completed post graduation Diploma in Human Resource Management from Bangladesh Institute of Management Studies, Dhaka and Level 1 (Business Studies) under the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
